Job description

Advanced Test Development Engineer (Finance)

As an Advanced Test Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the quality and reliability of aerospace products through innovative test engineering practices. You will lead the development and execution of sophisticated test plans and procedures, leveraging cutting‑edge methodologies to ensure our aerospace solutions meet the highest standards of performance and safety.

You will report directly to our Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Richardson, TX location on a Hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the aerospace industry by ensuring that Honeywell's aerospace products are rigorously tested and validated, contributing to safer and more efficient air travel worldwide. Delivering mission‑critical, electronic solutions that protect lives. Use your creativity and critical thinking to take our products from concept to customer. You will lead the development and execution of sophisticated test solutions for Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMICs). This role involves analyzing detailed test requirements and designing advanced Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems tailored to customer specifications. The engineer will create and implement comprehensive test strategies, including test plans, acceptance procedures, and rigorous design verification processes.

The position requires leadership in enhancing team test capabilities through planning, coordination, and development of custom test equipment, including fixture design and fabrication. Responsibilities include performing RF test setup, calibration, validation, and troubleshooting of complex assemblies to ensure accurate, repeatable measurements.

The engineer will develop and maintain automated test software using National Instruments LabVIEW, integrating instrumentation and databases to enable scalable, efficient, and high‑throughput testing environments. Additional duties include conducting advanced troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root cause investigations for MMIC devices and RF assemblies, as well as executing product qualification and environmental stress testing to meet industry standards.

This role also involves generating detailed technical reports, managing test data systems, and supporting laboratory operations such as asset tracking and equipment maintenance. Precision work under microscopes for inspection, assembly support, and failure analysis are also required. The ideal candidate is highly technical, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast‑paced engineering environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain automated test software for ATE systems using LabVIEW, Python, C, C++, Visual Basic and other industry‑standard test development tools to improve efficiency and data integrity
  • Analyze customer specifications to define test requirements, configurations, and acceptance criteria for MMIC testing
  • Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, including ATE configurations, fixtures, and software/hardware interfaces
  • Perform RF characterization of MMIC/semiconductor testing devices, including S‑parameters, output power, noise figure, and two‑tone measurements
  • Set up, calibrate, and execute RF test systems and on‑wafer probe testing using appropriate standards
