Job summary

Hussmann is offering a Summer Internship Program in advanced technology research. You will explore emerging refrigeration technologies, work with engineers on prototype development, and participate in a cross-functional team to evaluate new ideas.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, or related fields.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Highly motivated and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, test, and validate emerging technologies through prototype development, laboratory testing, and data analysis.
• Support laboratory testing activities, including instrumentation setup, data acquisition, performance monitoring, and test reporting.
• Assist with prototype assembly, troubleshooting, modification, and validation activities.
• Collect, analyze, and present engineering data using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or similar software.
• Support engineering studies related to thermodynamics, heat transfer, controls, and energy efficiency and system performance.
• Assist in the design and fabrication of test fixtures, experimental equipment, and prototype systems used in engineering evaluations.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to support research, development, and technology assessment activities.
• Network with senior leaders, associates, and other program interns to learn about our organization.
