Job summary

Wintrust Financial Corporation is seeking an Advanced ServiceNow Engineer to design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow applications within the IT organization. The role focuses on requirements analysis, configuration, security, and workflow, coordinating with offshore and contract teams to ensure architectural standards are met.

The position interfaces with multiple areas of Wintrust’s business, contributing to scalable software solutions and reliable platform performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience with ServiceNow in a technical capacity.
• Advanced knowledge of at least two ServiceNow capabilities (ITSM, ITOM, CMDB/Discovery/Service Mapping, etc.).
• Technical expertise in software/application development.
• At least 1 ServiceNow Certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for technical development, implementation, administration and support of the ServiceNow platform.
• Develop and deploy new features to support business initiatives and interfaces.
• Develop new applications, integrations and functionality for ServiceNow.
• Document functional specifications and designs.
• Collaborate with other engineers to review technical specs and ensure architecture compliance.
• Identify interfaces, methods, parameters, and procedures as required.
• Participate in peer code reviews and pair-programming sessions.
• Provide design expertise for software solutions and monitoring across platforms.
• Lead release management with packaging for deployment and integration into projects.

Position Overview

ServiceNow is a critical enterprise system for Wintrust and the heartbeat of the IT organization. The Advanced ServiceNow Engineer is primarily responsible for the design, architecture, development, and maintenance of ServiceNow applications, including requirements analysis, configuration changes, customizations, security definition and workflow. Converts system requirements into logical program designs, code modules and stable application systems. As one of the core full-time members of a team, Advanced ServiceNow Engineers are expected to collaborate and coordinate with offshore teams and contract team resources. While this is not a supervisor role, incumbents are responsible for ensuring code written by external vendor development resources is meeting company architectural standards and design patterns. As such, this individual plays a major role in vendor and project management

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for technical development, implementation, administration and support of the ServiceNow platform.
• Participate in the development and deployment of new features to support business initiatives, playing a leading role in the design of new/improved interfaces and functions within the platform.
• Develop new applications, integrations and functionality for ServiceNow.
• Develop and document functional specifications.
• Works with other Software Engineers to write and review technical specifications as required, meeting the objectives of functional specifications.
• Specifically, identifying specific interfaces, methods, parameters, procedures or functions as required.
• Participates in peer Code Review/Pair-Programming Sessions.
• Provide application design expertise for application development, database design and maintenance, software architecture, software development lifecycle management and application monitoring for the relevant platform(s).
• Help architect efficient and scalable software solutions for business application platforms.
• Responsible for the software release management of team projects including packaging for deployment and working with Configuration Management for the release of, and integration of released applications into open web projects.
• Convert system requirements into logical program designs, code modules and stable application systems.
• Develops technical design documents for software solutions independently.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience working with ServiceNow in a technical capacity
• Advanced level knowledge and experience with at least two of these ServiceNow capabilities: ServiceNow IT Service Management Incident Management, Request Management, Problem Management, Knowledge Management and Change Management ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) ServiceNow IT Asset Management (Hardware and Software Asset Management) ServiceNow Security Operations (Vulnerability Response and Security Incident Response) ServiceNow Configuration Management (CMDB), Discovery, and Service Mapping
• Technical expertise and knowledge of software and application development
• At least 1 ServiceNow Certification
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related disciplines, or equivalent work experience

The estimated salary range for this role is $85,000.00 - $110,000.00, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
