Job summary

Mobile Communications America, Inc. (MCA) seeks an Advanced Security Technician in Columbia, SC to install and service security systems including CCTV and access control. The role involves diagnosing issues, mentoring teammates, and delivering high-quality installations for customers.

You will work with a team on various projects, stay current with emerging security technologies, and coordinate with subcontractors as needed. MCA values service, growth, teamwork, and safety.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience installing and servicing enterprise-level physical security systems (Access Controls, CCTV, Intrusion/Burglar).
• Proficient in device installation, headend equipment, cabling, and network connections.
• Basic networking and programming understanding.
• Ability to train others on device installation.
• Experience using test equipment to verify installations.
• Able to troubleshoot across enterprise systems.
• Able to obtain appropriate licensure.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Installing and servicing physical security systems/platforms, including CCTV, access control systems, intrusion detection, communications, and many other low-voltage systems.
• Diagnosingand troubleshootingsystem issues.
• Training/mentoringothers within the team.
• Working as a valued team member on projects/installationsto deliver quality results to our customers.
• Maintaining awareness of new and emerging technologies and their potential application on client engagements.
• Working with trades and subcontractors assigned to projects.
• Serving as a lead tech on smaller projects/installations.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:

• Minimum2+ years of experience with the installation and service of enterprise-level physical security systems and platforms (Access Controls, CCTV, Intrusion / Burglar, etc.)
• Proficiency in all device installation, headend equipment, cabling, and ability to connect them to the network.
• Basic understanding of networking and programming.
• Ability to oversee and train others on device installation.
• Demonstrated ability to use test equipment to verify installation.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic issues across various enterprise-level systems.
• Ability to obtain appropriate licensure.
• Strong written and oral communication skills .

YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical environment requires the employee to work inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; utilize personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials, lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; be able to handle semi-frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular), frequently work in outdoor weather conditions, frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally ascend/descend a ladder, operate a motor vehicle, frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.

On-call for critical systems maintenance may be required. First shift hours Monday – Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.

Travel as necessary to support company and customer needs.
