Job summary

Mercy in Ardmore, Oklahoma is seeking an Advanced Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures to support patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires proficiency with imaging equipment, strict adherence to safety standards, and accurate documentation of procedures and findings.

You will operate imaging systems across machines, review images for quality, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program with required clinical hours.
  • One year of relevant experience or graduate of Bachelor degree program.
  • State licensure may be required depending on the state of practice.
  • ARRT‑Radiography certification and BLS are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate advanced imaging equipment with precision to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Prepare, position, and transfer patients; explain procedures and ensure radiation safety.
  • Administer contrast media under physician direction.
  • Monitor equipment for unsafe conditions and perform routine maintenance.
  • Submit equipment/technology requests and follow through to resolution.
  • Manage and update images and patient records in PACS.
  • Schedule radiology examinations and charge for supplies.
  • Perform clerical duties as needed.
  • Assist with QA initiatives and clinical rotations.

This role requires proficiency in operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, upholding high-quality imaging standards, and maintaining accurate records and documentation of procedures and findings.   • Operates all relevant advanced imaging equipment with expertise and precision, captures high-quality diagnostic images consistently across various machines, and reviews and verifies images for clarity and completeness before submission for interpretation.
  • Prepares, positions, and transfers patients for imaging procedures, explaining the process, and addressing any concerns, and providing radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Administers contrast media under a physician's direction and within the Radiology Department/Health System policies' guidelines.
  • Monitors imaging equipment for unsafe conditions and performs routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
  • Submits requests for equipment and/or technology needs and sees them through to resolution.
  • Manages and updates images and patient records completely and accurately in PACS (picture archival communication system)
  • Schedules radiology examinations correctly.
  • Charges for supplies used accurately.
  • Performs clerical duties, as needed.
  • Assists with QA initiatives
  • Assists with clinical rotations, as applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

Experience:

Licensure:

Certification/Registration:

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Radiography (ARRT(R)); Basic Life Support (BLS).

Physical Requirements
  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
