Job summary

Growth Acceleration Partners seeks an Advanced QA Automation Engineer for a hybrid role balancing automated testing with thorough manual QA. You will design, build, and maintain scalable testing solutions for web apps and APIs, validating backend services and performing exploratory testing in an Agile/SAFe environment.

You will write reliable automation code from scratch, collaborate with engineering teams, and contribute to test strategy and release readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent hands-on experience in software testing.
• 3+ years in software testing and QA, with at least 2 years in QA automation.
• Experience writing automation from scratch without record/playback tools.
• Experience executing end-to-end tests, API validations, and regression suites in Agile/SAFe environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, and maintain scalable automated test suites using Cypress and Robot Framework.
• Validate APIs with Postman and REST Assured across RESTful architectures and data formats (JSON/XML).
• Execute functional, regression, smoke, ad‑hoc, and exploratory tests across browsers/devices.
• Create and document test cases and Gherkin scenarios for manual and automated execution.
• Identify and track defects; participate in story validation and code reviews.
• Analyze quality metrics to support software deployments.

Summary

We are seeking an Advanced QA Automation Engineer for a hybrid role that balances robust test automation with thorough manual QA practices. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable testing solutions across web applications while actively contributing to overall test strategies in an Agile/SAFe environment. Operating with strong organizational discipline and self‑direction, you will write reliable automation code from scratch, validate backend APIs, perform exploratory testing, and collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure software reliability and smooth release cycles.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent hands‑on experience).

Professional Experience

• 3+ years of professional experience in software testing and Quality Assurance, with at least 2 years in a dedicated QA Automation role.

• Proven experience writing test automation code from scratch using framework architectures (avoiding record/playback tools).

• Demonstrated experience executing end‑to‑end testing cycles, API validations, and regression suites within Agile, Scrum, or SAFe environments.

• Hands‑on background in defect tracking, test scenario documentation, and analyzing quality metrics throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, and maintain scalable automated test suites using Cypress and Robot Framework.

• Perform thorough API validation and automation utilizing Postman and REST Assured across RESTful architectures and JSON/XML data formats.

• Execute comprehensive functional, regression, smoke, ad‑hoc, and exploratory testing across multiple browsers and devices.

• Create and document detailed test cases and Gherkin scenarios for both manual verification and automated execution.

• Identify, report, track, and verify software defects, participating in user story validation, acceptance, and code reviews.

• Analyze and report key quality metrics (e.g., escaped defects, customer escalations, and overall test coverage) to support software deployments.

Required Technical Skills

Strong experience in several of the following areas:

• UI Test Automation: Medium to advanced hands‑on experience developing test automation from scratch using Cypress and Robot Framework.

• API Testing & Automation: Deep proficiency in testing and validating REST APIs using Postman and REST Assured.

• Programming Languages: Solid coding experience in JavaScript, Python, or Java to build maintainable and modular test scripts.

• Data Validation & QA Fundamentals: Medium‑level SQL skills for data verification, paired with expertise in test planning, execution, and Gherkin‑based test design.

• Tooling & Platform Testing: Practical experience using Jira or Azure DevOps for defect lifecycle management and cross‑browser/device testing.

Nice to Have

• Strongly desired experience in Performance Testing using Apache JMeter.

• Direct experience working within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) delivery model.

• Hands‑on experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with basic Linux command‑line operations, accessibility testing standards, or object‑oriented modular design.
