Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a process operator specialist for its Starbase, TX facility. The operator will own equipment performance by monitoring process parameters and maintaining components, with a drive to correct issues before failures occur.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering technology and 2+ years of experience with automated processes, or a high school diploma with 4+ years in control room, plant operations, or instrumentation/electrical

Qualifications

Associate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering technology with 2+ years of automation experience, or a high school diploma with 4+ years in listed areas.
Ability to read P&ID and schematic wiring diagrams.
Experience with compressors, control systems, and instrument electrical systems.

Responsibilities

Identify equipment and process deviations and perform corrective actions.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate process equipment including compressors, gas analyzers, and control systems.
Work with engineers, technicians, and fabricators to implement fluid and mechanical designs in the field.
Work with engineers and technicians to create operating procedures.
Coordinate across multiple disciplines to ensure resources are available to complete builds.
Use schematics and parts lists to maintain a mature hardware inventory with procurement of critical spares.
Learn and run standard operating procedures on the machinery.
