Clinica Sierra Vista in Bakersfield, CA is seeking an Advanced Practitioner (PA-C or FNP-C) for a full-time Walk-In role at the South Bakersfield CHC location. The position offers a base salary range of $160,000 to $180,000 annually, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for loan repayment and sign-on assistance.

The provider will evaluate and treat a diverse patient panel, order diagnostics, and work collaboratively with physicians to deliver high-quality primary care.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified PA-C or FNP-C.
• Experience in primary care/ community health centers preferred.
• Ability to order labs and imaging and interpret results.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients with histories for all ages.
• Perform physical examinations to define problems.
• Develop diagnoses and consult with physicians as needed.
• Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostics.
• Perform procedures within privileges granted.
• Participate in clinical activities across sites and continuing education.

We're looking for someone to join our team as an Advanced Practice Provider who: Is responsible for providing medical services for the patients of Clinica Sierra Vista and includes the following: Patient evaluation, which should include histories both brief (interval) and more thorough, histories on children, adults and the elderly. Physical examinations: focused or thorough, as needed to define patient problems adequately. Develop diagnoses or differential diagnoses appropriate to patients’ complaints. Consult with Physician when needed. Patient problem confirmation and testing including the (ordering of laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic measure). Participate in the performance of the necessary diagnostic maneuvers such as anoscopy examination, pelvic examination and pap smears, electrocardiography, chest x-ray interpretation and the ability to draw venous blood when needed.

• $160,000 Base salary (Commensurate with experience)

• Sign-on bonus of up to $75,000 or Mortgage Subsidy up to $75,000.

• Malpractice coverage through the FTCA/Federal Tort Claims Act.

Essential Functions

• Evaluate Patients for medication utilization or other therapeutic or preventative measures.
• Counseling patients with respect to the meaning of health problems, the usefulness and rationales of laboratory and X-ray tests and the essentiality of preventative and therapeutic steps.
• Suggest and help to implement referrals when indicated.
• Carry out certain therapeutic and preventive maneuvers including place and removing I.U.D.’S, fitting diaphragms, suturing lacerations, and putting on casts for minor fractures. All of the above activities are done in collaboration with Clinica’s physicians per privileges granted.
• Participates in clinical activities in all clinic sites on a scheduled basis, in the same fashion as do physicians.
• Demonstrates good interpersonal abilities with patients and associates.
• Participates in clinical consultations with associates and continuing education both within the institution and extramurally.
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
