Job summary

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Surgery, Vascular is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). The APRN will examine and treat patients independently and in collaboration with other health care professionals, providing illness prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery support.

Core duties include performing exams, ordering tests, prescribing therapies, coordinating care transitions, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field required.
• Florida APRN license required; ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience.
• Ability to work independently and with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents complete physical examinations and health histories.
• Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for patients.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient needs.
• Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
• Implements interventions to support physiologic stability.
• Assists with care in accordance with facility regulations.
• Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
• Facilitates patient transitions within and between care settings.
