Overview

Position: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)

Location: Nashville, TN

Schedule: PRN - Hours will be available on weekdays, 7am-7pm

Compensation: $65/hour

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical obligations: Conduct daily clinical rounds on patients and lead multidisciplinary rounds with the pharmacist and other direct caregivers for designated patients. Assess patients, order and review diagnostic testing information, formulate and alter clinical plans of care as needed including prescribing appropriate treatments and medications within scope of practice.
  • Recognize decompensation/changes in condition, stabilize patient and/or seek appropriate consultation as needed.
  • Follow evidence-based practice guidelines and work to prevent complications affecting psychological and physiological well-being.
  • Obtain and organize data to assist attending and consulting physicians with admissions, consultations, progress notes, and discharges as needed; responsibility for documentation, including assessment and plan, rests with the physician.
  • Demonstrate measurable impact in the multidisciplinary team to provide safe and superior quality care by increasing patient satisfaction, decreasing return to acute care events, and preventing adverse events such as medication errors, falls, and hospital-acquired pressure ulcers. Champion nurse-driven protocols to decrease urinary catheter utilization and MDRO infection rates. Support ICU liberation and ventilation weaning efforts where applicable.
Minimum Requirements
  • Permanent State Registered Nurse License and Certificate of Authority.
  • Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice.
  • National Nurse Practitioner Certification (Adult, Acute Care or Family) through AANP or ANCC.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting.
  • Knowledge and skills related to the care of adolescent patients through patients in an advanced age.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
