Job summary

OrthoIndy Northwest in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for our Urgent Care Clinics. The role supports non‑appointment orthopaedic care with a mix of 12‑ and 9‑hour shifts and requires two weekend shifts per month, with full benefits.

Ideal candidates have ER/urgent care APP experience, PA or NP license, and suitable certifications. Primary weekday location Northwest Indianapolis, with travel to Fishers, Brownsburg, Westfield and Greenwood clinics as needed; weekend

Qualifications

• ER/urgent care experience preferred.
• PA or NP licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient treatment, including casting, wound care, injections.
• Counsel patients on care of braces and DME products; provide health-related guidance.
• Document in EMR and coordinate care with supervising physicians.
• Order radiologic and laboratory tests as needed to complete exams.

• For weekday shifts, the primary location will be at our NorthwestIndianapolis Urgent Care Clinic with location to vary based on staffingneeds to include our Fishers, Brownsburg, Westfield and Greenwood UrgentCare Clinics.
• Weekend shifts would be at ourNorthwestIndianapolis, Greenwood and Fishers locations. NW and Greenwood are open on Saturdays andSundays, 9 am - 3 pm, and Fishers in open on Saturdays from 9am - 3 pm.

General Statement of Duties :

The Advanced Practice Provider assess patients using skills and knowledge to identify orthopaedic related problems. This position provides patient access to orthopaedic and musculoskeletal care on a non-appointment basis functioning as a member of the Urgent Care Department.

• Provides direct patient treatment, including but not limited to: applying and/or removing casts/splints, simple wound care and repair, joint injection and aspiration, administration of local anesthetic and digital blocks, joint and fracture reduction, and application of braces, splints, and other DME and soft goods.
  
• Provides patient and family instruction on the proper use and care of braces, splints, and other DME products. Helps to counsel individuals and families about their health related issues. Communicates individualized teaching plans to patients based on their needs.
  
• Plans and implements care of patients, including; EMR documentation, ordering additional studies, communicates with supervising Physicians and clinic staff, and prescribing appropriate medications.
  
• Assesses patients and assesses normal and abnormal findings obtained from history and physical examination as well as radiology and ancillary studies.
  
• Orders radiologic and laboratory tests and studies as necessary to complete history and physical examinations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner required, Master's Degree preferred
• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or American Association of Nurse Practitioners certification required
• Indiana Physician Assistant Committee or Coalition of Advanced Practice Nurses of Indiana certification required
• 1-2 years of experience, preferably in ER and/or Urgent Care setting
