Job summary

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program and eligible for practice in the state of Georgia.
  • For Nurse Practitioners: ANCC or AANP board certification.
  • For Physician Assistants: NCCPA certification (PANCE).
  • Current Georgia licensure as NP or PA.
  • Maintains CME hours and ongoing certification requirements.
  • BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications required; AHA certification to be obtained within 30 days if not through AHA.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient clinical support and serve as the primary liaison between patients, providers, and the care team.
  • Assess, coordinate, and manage patient care plans with surgeons and physicians.
  • Enter and manage EMR orders including medications, admissions, labs, imaging, and IV therapies.
  • Complete timely documentation including H&Ps, consults, follow-ups, and informed consents.
  • Support care coordination and improve patient flow across teams.
  • Maintain licensure and participate in ongoing education and department initiatives.
  • Support department goals through leadership and policy development.

Advanced Practice Provider, Surgical Oncology

The Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) works collaboratively with surgeons and physicians to deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient surgical oncology care. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care coordination, ordering and managing treatments, performing procedures, documenting clinical encounters, providing patient education, and supporting perioperative and cancer surveillance care while ensuring high-quality, patient-centered outcomes.

The successful candidate:
  • Must be able to work Monday-Friday 8a-5p with occasional call requirement. Provide inpatient clinical support and serve as the primary liaison between patients, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  • Assess, coordinate, and manage patient care plans in collaboration with surgeons, consulting physicians, and clinical stakeholders.
  • Enter and manage EMR orders including medications, admissions, laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging, and IV therapies in accordance with hospital and state guidelines.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation, including histories and physicals (H&Ps), consults, follow-up visits, patient education, and informed consents.
  • Facilitate patient flow, enhance communication across care teams, and support overall care coordination.
  • Maintain required licensure and certifications while participating in ongoing education, training, and departmental initiatives.
  • Support departmental goals through leadership, policy development, quality improvement efforts, and other duties as delegated by the supervising physician.
Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program and eligible for practice in the state of Georgia.
  • For Nurse Practitioners: National Board Certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
  • For Physician Assistants: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and successful completion of the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) through NCCPA.
  • Current Georgia licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Maintains required Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours and ongoing certification requirements as mandated by the applicable professional organization and licensing board.
  • Current BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications required. If certification is not through the American Heart Association (AHA), AHA certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
