Texas Oncology in Denton is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Hematology and Oncology team. This is a full-time role supporting the Denton location, with typical hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.

to 5 p.m. The APP will contribute across the care continuum, collaborating with physicians to deliver high-quality, patient-centered cancer care in a warm, team-oriented environment that values ongoing learning and innovation.

Qualifications

• Masters of Science in Nursing and successful NP program completion.
• RN state licensure and current board registration.
• NCCPA certification for Physician Assistants or equivalent.
• BLS/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
• Initiates and documents interventions; prescribes therapies as indicated.
• Performs procedures after appropriate training.
• Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
• Promotes wellness and connects patients with community resources.
• Incorporates evidence-based practice and current research.
• Develops knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation.
• Completes patient charge capture and medical records in a timely fashion.
• May provide case management for patients and families.
• May provide staff education.
• Rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after-hour calls.
• Other duties as assigned.

Texas Oncology is looking for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team! This full-time position will support the Denton location in the Hematology and Oncology departments. Typical hours for this position are Mon-Fri from 8am-5pm.

This position will be either a level 1, 2 or Sr based on candidate experience

What does the Advanced Practice Provider do? (including but not limited to)

The primary role of the APP is to provide direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care, in collaboration with practice physicians. The APP impacts quality of patient care and patient outcomes throughout the care continuum. APPs support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program. This position is entry‑level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years post MSN experience, preferably in the chosen specialty. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.

OR

Physician Assistant

Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification. This position is entry‑level and typically requires 0-3 years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant, preferably in the chosen specialty. Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.

Clinical Nurse Specialist

Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program. This position is entry‑level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years of post‑MSN experience, preferably in the chosen specialty. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
