The program offers a unique salaried opportunity to improve clinical skills and prepare for a career in community medicine by training within a federally qualified health center. The program will prepare APPs to manage complex care of patients in a multi-cultural, socioeconomically diverse population. Participants will also develop the broad skill base necessary to have a successful career providing primary care in outpatient settings to medically underserved communities.**Core training will consist of:*** Orientation* Precepted clinical sessions* Didactics, journaling, case write-ups, and other clinical projects* Rotations/independent practice* Close mentorship from experienced clinicians* Ongoing evaluation to improve individual performance as well as enhance patient careThe next APP Residency Program cycle begins on November 2, 2026. Participants agree to a minimum 3-year commitment with FHCSD. Salary during the initial 12-month Residency Program is $125,000 annually. After graduation from the Residency Program, participants will transition to regular provider roles. Salary will be increased to $145,000 for the second year and $165,000 for the third of employment.
