Job summary

A leading health care provider in Camden, New Jersey is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse) for its Inpatient Neurosurgical Service. The role involves managing neurosurgical patients, conducting independent rounds, and triaging issues. Candidates should have over 2 years of relevant experience in surgical settings and hold a Master's Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. This position is per diem, with 7am-5pm weekend and weekday needs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in Neurosurgery, Trauma, Other Surgical subspecialties, and neuro ICU is preferred.
• Board certification as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required.
• Active New Jersey License and BLS certification from American Heart Association required.

Overview

Cooper University Health Care is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse) for our Inpatient Neurosurgical Service at Inspira Neurosciences in Mullica Hill and Vineland.

Responsibilities

• Manage neurosurgical patients at Inspira Mullica Hill and Inspira Vineland as part of the neurosurgery inpatient service by conducting independent rounds on ICU/stepdown/floor.
• Triaging ED patient/inpatient issues; potential first assist in the OR.
• Conduct comprehensive neurologic exams, rounding, basic image review to determine surgical emergencies, patient/family education, drain management and removal.

Experience

Experience is required to meet the needs of this complex patient cohort. Ideally, 2+ years of relevant experience including Neurosurgery, Trauma, Other Surgical subspecialties, neuro ICU. Short onboarding/training available.

Education

Master's Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required.

License/Certification

Board certification Nurse Practitioner or Board certification as Physician Assistant; Active New Jersey License; American Heart Association BLS. Nurse Practitioner must be acute care with RNFA preferred.

Schedule

Per Diem - 7am-5pm weekend/weekday needs
