Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA seeks an ARNP/PA-C to provide evaluation and medical management for hematology and hematologic malignancy patients after bone marrow transplantation, including graft-versus-host disease care. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, perform surveillance, participate in clinical research, and teach across settings.

Must have Master’s degree, WA license, DEA, ACLS within 3 months. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner training program awarding a Master’s degree.
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Washington.
  • DEA license upon credentialing/start.
  • ACLS within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex and problem-focused H & P’s.
  • Evaluates and manages on-treatment and post-treatment side effects, as well as long-term surveillance and survivorship issues.
  • Performs procedures (bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, lumbar puncture with intrathecal chemotherapy, etc.) according to licensure, credentialing, and scope of practice
  • Collaborates and consults with other disciplines and services to ensure safe, effective, and timely treatment as well as continuity of patient care.
  • Participates in the conduct of cancer clinical research
  • Provides patient, caregiver, and peer education
  • Communicates effectively with inpatient and outpatient teams
  • Participates in patient rounds, conferences and committees
  • Other duties as assigned

Education

Master’s degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program

A Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center ARNP/PA-C is a certified Physician Assistant or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner who provides evaluation and medical management for Hematology and Hematologic Malignancy patients following bone marrow transplantation, specializing in the management of graft-versus-host disease and other post-transplant complications. This role offers the opportunity to care for a unique patient population facing health and life challenges, combining comprehensive primary care responsibilities with highly sub-specialized, complex care. The ARNP/PA-C follows patients, provides supportive medical care, and conducts surveillance after treatment completion while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate and optimize patient care. There are also opportunities to participate in clinical research studies. All clinical responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice, institutional privileges, and under the supervision of an attending physician.

Required
Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice in the state of Washington.
  • DEA license upon credentialing/start.
  • ACLS within 3 months of hire.
Preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of ARNP or PA-C experience in Medical Oncology

The annual base salary range for this position is from $140,000 to $210,752, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
