  • Current membership in AAPA or AANP.
  • CPR and BLS certification.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations including medical histories and physical examinations.
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, and educate patients.
  • Conduct procedures like sutures placement and nasal cauterization.
  • Provide post-operative follow-up care and patient education for ENT surgeries.
  • Maintain accurate EMR records in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Collaborate with physicians for coordinated care.

Job description

ENT and Allergy Associates, New York & New Jersey's premier ENT and Allergy medical practice, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Otolaryngology team at our Hauppauge location. Salary: $130,000-$180,000/year.

Position Overview

As a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for our Otolaryngology team, you will provide patient care using sound clinical judgment and adhere to all ethical considerations of clinical practice. You will work closely with our team of otolaryngologists and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment: Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including detailed medical histories and thorough physical examinations. Evaluate and manage patients presenting with tonsil, adenoid, and sinus disorders, among other ENT conditions.
  • Diagnosis & Treatment Planning: Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, educate patients on their disease and treatment plan, monitor effectiveness, reconcile and prescribe medication within scope of practice.
  • Procedures: After training, conduct sutures placement/removal, nasal cauterization, nasal splint/packing insertion/removal, brush and punch biopsies, cerumen removal, nasal, nasopharyngoscopy, and fiberoptic laryngoscopies.
  • Surgical Assistance: Provide post‑operative follow‑up care, wound management, and patient education for ENT surgeries.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and families on treatment options, post‑operative care, and preventive measures for ear, nose, throat, and head and neck conditions.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate EMR records in accordance with HIPAA and ENTA policies.
  • Collaboration and Compliance: Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care and adhere to all healthcare laws and standards.

  • Active Physician Assistant or Registered Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
  • Certification by NCCPA, AANPCB, or ANCC.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Bilingual – Spanish (preferred). APP ENT or office experience preferred.
Schedule

Four 10‑hour shifts, every other Saturday required.
