Job summary

Healthstartn in Jefferson City, TN is seeking a licensed clinician (RN with NP or PA credentials) to provide comprehensive patient care in our outpatient clinic.

Responsibilities include obtaining medical histories, performing physical exams, coordinating diagnostic procedures, developing treatment plans, triaging calls, and educating patients and families. Must be able to work under pressure and in emergencies. BSN required; MSN preferred; RN licensure plus NP/PA certification required.

Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN preferred.
• Successful completion of advance practitioner training and certification from an approved nurse practitioner program (for NP path).
• Successful completion of PA training from an approved PA program (for PA path).
• Current RN licensure plus Advanced Practice Nurse licensure or NCCPA certification, and CPR.

Responsibilities

• Obtain medical history and perform physicals to guide diagnostic decisions.
• Interpret and integrate data to determine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Order labs and diagnostic procedures as needed and record findings.
• Develop preliminary diagnosis and treatment plans; coordinate with physicians.
• Administer injections and manage minor procedures; sutures when needed.
• Educate patients and families on medications, treatment plans and health maintenance.
• Triages calls and provides consultations; manage medical emergencies.
• Maintain and review patient records; operate EMR (Athena).
• Attend meetings and participate in committees; engage in ongoing professional development.

• Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients.
• Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.
• Performs a complete physical exam and records findings. Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
• Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
• Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of preventions.
• Administers medical and injections according to physician direction. Sutures minor lacerations.
• Evaluates and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention and makes recommendations as needed.
• Interprets tests and examination results under the direction of a physician.
• Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Provides patient education as needed.
• Maintains and reviews patient’s records and other pertinent information.
• Triages patient telephone calls and provides consultations.
• Manages medical and surgical emergencies.
• Must be knowledgeable of EMR (Athena).
• Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
• Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.

• Successful completion of advance practitioner training and certification as a practitioner (general or specialized) from an approved nurse practitioner program.

• Successful completion of a Physician's Assistant training (general or specialized) from an approved PA program.
