The Queen's University Medical Group (QUMG) is seeking an experienced and collaborative Operations Manager, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) – Inpatient Neuroscience to provide operational leadership and oversight for Advanced Practice Providers within the Neuroscience Institute.

This position serves as a key liaison between APPs, physicians, department leadership, and organizational stakeholders to optimize clinical operations, enhance team-based care, and support the delivery of high-quality patient care. The Operations Manager also maintains a clinical practice and patient caseload while providing leadership and professional development support to APP staff.

The Queen's Medical Center is home to one of Hawaiʻi's leading neurosciences programs, providing comprehensive care for patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions across the state and Pacific region. The multidisciplinary team includes neurosurgeons, neurologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, rehabilitation specialists, and support staff who work collaboratively to deliver innovative, patient-centered care. The program offers advanced treatment for stroke, brain and spine disorders, neurovascular disease, movement disorders, epilepsy, and other complex neurological conditions. Position Highlights
  • Lead and support Advanced Practice Providers across assigned medical and surgical service lines.
  • Partner with physicians, program leadership, and QUMG executives to optimize APP utilization and productivity.
  • Drive operational excellence, workflow improvement, and program development initiatives.
  • Supervise and mentor APP staff while fostering a culture of collaboration, engagement, and professional growth.
  • Maintain an active clinical practice within area of specialty.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary liaison between APPs and assigned clinical programs.
  • Collaborate with department and medical leadership to develop and implement strategic plans that support patient care and operational goals.
  • Ensure effective APP staffing, scheduling, onboarding, orientation, and professional development.
  • Promote high-scope APP practice and team-based care models.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and operational projects.
  • Participate in budget planning and resource management activities.
  • Facilitate communication among APPs, physicians, clinical staff, and leadership teams.
  • Support APP student rotations and educational opportunities.
  • Maintain a clinical caseload consistent with specialty and credentialing requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Hawaii State license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Current board certification applicable to specialty practice.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Credentialing and privileging eligibility.
  • Minimum three (3) years of clinical practice experience within specialty area.
  • Minimum one (1) year of supervisory, leadership, or management experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred
  • Doctorate in area of practice.
  • Experience in education, research, and publication.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and operational initiatives.

Base salary begins at $194,374/year with opportunity for quality incentives.
