Job summary

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement IHSC seeks a Supervisory Advanced Practice Provider to oversee Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners, manage training and scheduling, and deliver direct detainee care. The APP performs evaluations and prescribes medications under clinical protocols.

Position requires licensure, certification and 6+ years clinical experience. Open only to USPHS officers and CAD candidates; reports to the facility Clinical Director.

Job description

The Supervisory Advanced Practice Provider oversees Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners at the DHS IHSC facility, training, and schedules. Provides direct detainee care, performs evaluations, and prescribes medications. Requires licensure, certification, and 6+ years clinical experience. The Supervisory APP reports directly to the facility Clinical Director.

This position is only open to USPHS officers and Call to Active Duty (CAD) candidates.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Requires physical exertion such as lifting objects greater than 30 pounds.
2. Required to perform CPR/emergency care standing or kneeling.
3. Must have the ability to assist sick, injured or aging detainees or staff exiting the building (may require lifting, dragging, wheeling or carrying someone who weighs significantly more than self).
4. The work may necessitate some physical characteristics that will be required when responding to an emergency situation, such as running a short distance, prolonged standing and working in an austere environment.
