Job description

Overview

The Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) seeks to advance its tripartite mission of delivering high-value care, driving research, and cultivating excellence in medical education. We are investing in people, processes, and technology to create an environment where collaboration thrives and every role contributes to advancing medicine. The department includes more than 140 faculty and 46 Advanced Practice Providers and is committed to excellence across all mission areas. The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine (PCCSM) at UTMB leads in advanced respiratory, critical care, and sleep medicine services across four hospital campuses: Galveston, League City, Clear Lake, and Angleton-Danbury Campus.

PCCSM provides comprehensive care for pulmonary, critical care, and sleep conditions, including obstructive and restrictive lung diseases, pulmonary vascular disease, lung cancer, and complex respiratory failure. Faculty lead in intensive care units, ambulatory pulmonary and sleep medicine, and promote evidence-based practices through multidisciplinary collaboration. The division also maintains a Sleep Medicine presence with diagnostic and therapeutic services through UTMB Sleep Centers. The ACGME-accredited Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program offers comprehensive training across all aspects of pulmonary and critical care medicine. Research spans clinical, translational, and basic science domains, with active projects in lung cancer and screening, COPD, ILD, pulmonary hypertension, and sleep-disordered breathing.
