Job summary

University Cancer & Blood Center in Georgia seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our GI team. You will perform comprehensive history and physical exams, manage common GI disorders, order and explain tests, and provide pre- and post-procedure education.

The role includes prescriptive authority for medications and coordination of IV therapies, with a strong emphasis on compassionate patient care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Education: MSN or DNP for NPs; Master's degree for PAs.
• Licensure: Valid and unrestricted NP or PA state license.
• Experience in GI care or primary care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patient Consultations: Perform comprehensive history and physical exams for new and returning GI patients.
• Condition Management: Manage and treat common GI disorders.
• Diagnostic Ordering: Order, interpret, and explain diagnostic tests like lab panels, imaging, and stool studies.
• Pre & Post-Procedure Care: Educate patients, obtain consent, and review medication instructions before/after procedures like endoscopies and colonoscopies.
• Prescriptive Authority: Write and renew prescriptions, manage biologic therapies, and coordinate intravenous (IV) infusion therapies.
