Job summary

Intermountain Health in Butte, MT is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Emergency Medicine team. You will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced setting, collaborating with hospitalists and the Intermountain network to deliver excellent outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Active PA or NP license by MT State Board.
  • Prescriptive Authority by MT State Board and DEA license.
  • Current BLS certification (AHA).
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of employment (site-specific).
  • Ability to complete Intermountain Health credentialing process.
  • Ability to communicate effectively within a multi-functional team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in Emergency Medicine preferred.
  • Passion for rural Emergency Medicine.

About This Role

As a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Emergency Medicine, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience.

  • Competitive Compensation!
  • Incentives: $10,000 starting bonus, up to $7,500 relocation bonus (if applicable), and up to $25,000 student loan repayment bonus (if applicable). We’re also PSLF eligible!
  • You will practice at St. James Healthcare, a Level 4 Trauma Center, in Butte, MT.
  • Shifts will be 12-hour shifts typically 11-11
  • Full-time position - roughly 12- 14 shifts a month
  • Potential to pick up extra shifts if there's a need.
  • Close working relationship with our Hospitalist team.
  • You will provide care to wide range of patients in a quickly evolving environment.
  • Supportive group and excellent physician partnership.
  • Connections to St. Vincent Regional Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center, and other Intermountain Health hospitals.

What You’ll Bring
  • An active Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) License by the MT State Board.
  • Prescriptive Authority by the MT state board of Nursing or Medical Examiners and DEA License.
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS Certification within 6 months of employment (site specific).
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process
  • Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience as a provider in Emergency Medicine preferred.
  • Passion for rural Emergency Medicine.

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
