Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis County is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to oversee the Cardiology Stress Lab (does not perform treadmill stress tests) and to provide cross-support for cardiac data initiatives within a collaborative practice agreement with physicians.

The outpatient role offers a daytime schedule (7am–3:30pm) with nine 8-hour shifts per pay period, no weekends, no call, and a strong work-life balance; prior cardiac background and stress-testing oversight are

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing or related field required.
• Accredited NP program completion.
• Cardiac background and stress testing oversight strongly preferred.
• Experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in cardiology or stress lab desired.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Cardiology Stress Lab operations as on-site mid-level contact.
• Coordinate stress testing activities and cross-support cardiac data initiatives.
• Collaborate with physicians under a formal practice agreement.
• Provide staff development and education for stress testing staff.
• Assist in non-t treadmill treadmill workload and cath lab duties as needed.

The Missouri Baptist Medical Center Cardiac Testing department is a diagnostic testing center which focuses on identifying and evaluating cardiac disease processes. The department is comprised of RNs, cardiac sonographers, ECG techs, Nuclear Medicine technologists and administrative staff. The Cardiac Testing staff works in collaboration with Cardiologists to deliver high quality services to patients and their physicians.

Role Purpose

The Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice nurse who utilizes a high degree of knowledge, skill and competence in a specialized patient care area. This position assesses, diagnose, prescribes, initiates plan of care and evaluates outcomes within the scope of a formal collaborative practice agreement with physician(s).

Responsibilities

• Participates in professional development
• Manages the health care of patient populations with compassion through advanced health assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician. Prescriptive responsibilities are reviewed by collaborative physician.
• Coordinates the care of patient populations, in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician, to ensure promotion of health and wellness through education of patients and families, coordination of services and placing referrals.
• Assess development needs of staff and develops and delivers appropriate educational programs to meet staff needs.
• Develops treatment plans, treats patients with acute problems including illnesses and minor injuries following a predetermined protocol in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician.
