JOB SUMMARY
The Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC), a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center affiliated with UT Southwestern Medical Center, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our inpatient Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) team. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive care for patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation, cellular therapies, and treatment of hematologic malignancies while working closely with physicians, APPs, nurses, pharmacists, case managers, and supportive care teams.
The APP serves as a key clinical provider responsible for evaluating patients, managing complex oncology and transplant-related conditions, interpreting laboratory and diagnostic studies, coordinating multidisciplinary care, assisting with procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures, providing patient and family education, and supporting patients through some of the most critical phases of their cancer treatment journey. Candidates with prior oncology, hematology, bone marrow transplant, cellular therapy, acute care, or critical care experience are strongly preferred. New graduate APPs with oncology nursing experience are encouraged to apply. Veteran's encouraged to apply.
Hours: Six 12-hour shifts every two weeks with a self-scheduling model. Typical hours are 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., with two weekend days every four weeks and rotating major holiday coverage.
