Job summary

Neighborcare Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP/PA) for a school-based health program in Vashon, WA. This 0.8 FTE on-site role supports the clinical care team to deliver comprehensive health services in a school setting.

The role requires NP/PA licensure in Washington, DEA licensure, board certification, and BLS, with preference for pediatric/ adolescent care experience. Standby period during summer and grant-funded position are noted in the description.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Active ARNP license with Washington State Department of Health.
  • Active DEA licensure and board certification.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and perform vital signs; administer vaccines/injections; dispense medications; conduct Point of Care testing; phlebotomy; inventory management of medications, supplies, vaccines.
  • Provide patient-centered preventative care, diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions.
  • Coordinate referrals and overall care in a team-based setting.

Description

Purpose

The Advanced Practice Provider ensures appropriate comprehensive health care to support the clinical care team in achieving Neighborcare’s goals for quality care, productivity and patient satisfaction. Perform independent clinical activities, and collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants when appropriate to achieve quality patient care. Work in partnership and joint accountability with other lead team members to achieve Neighborcare’s Mission and Guiding Principles and goals.

Please note that as a part of theschool-basehealth care program this position is on standby during the summer for approximately eightto tenweeks. School baseemployees are not paid during the standby period. The duration of the standby period may fluctuate from year to year depending on many factors.

This is a grant funded position.

Compensation:

  • The target wage range for the ARNP and PA positions is $56.94 per hour to $69.69 per hour.
  • Final offers are individually based on various factors, including skill set, years of experience, location, qualifications, work schedule and other job-related reasons.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Role does not have support of a Medical Assistant, so medical provider will room patients, collectvital signs, administervaccines/injections, dispensemedications, conductPoint of Care testing, perform phlebotomy, clean instruments, and process lab samples. The provider will also be responsible forinventory management of medications, medical supplies, and vaccines.
  • Provide patient centered preventative care, as well as diagnoses and treatment of acute and chronic conditions
  • Identify the need for referrals and provide overall care coordination in a team-based setting
  • Assure accurate and timely completion of all clinical records; Completion of paperwork in a team-based approach
  • Completing necessary paperwork for patient care such as, prior authorizations and communications with outside specialists
  • Timely response to communications and test results; Provide feedback to appropriate teams and/or individuals when necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client information.
  • Attend required in service/training/staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Occasionally will need to have some flexibility in hours to meet the needs of the families, and schedule work hours throughout a calendar year.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to conduct all appointments independently without the assistanceof a Medical Assistant
  • Knowledge and understanding of Washington State confidentiality and consent regulations for adolescent health services
  • Knowledge of community resources, including insurance and Medicaid eligibility requirements
  • Knowledge of and proficient in the use of Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of cultural and social determinants of health
  • Ability to organize data, calendars, monthly reports, and feedback on activities
  • Ability to develop relationships between Neighborcare Health, schools, and SBHCs to expand services and deliver resources
  • Ability to meet and comply with HIPAA/Confidentiality policies and procedures
  • Ability to willingly accept responsibility, organize and problem solve, and follow-up on tasks
  • Ability to analyze patient care data

  • Ability to counsel and initiate all contraception options – including competency in Nexplanon and IUDprocedures

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Active ARNP license with Washington State Department of Health
  • Active DEA licensure
  • Board certified
  • Current BLS certification

Preferred Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in the field of pediatric healthcare, preferably working with low income, multi-ethnic populations, school-based health, and/or developmental pediatrics
  • Willingness to assist at multiple Neighborcare Health clinic sites
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license required and proof of automobile insurance
