Job summary

Commonwealth Pain & Spine is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP, APRN or PA) to join our pain management team remotely with responsibilities in Indiana. The role requires a valid Indiana license (unrestricted) and may include DEA registration preference.

Experience in pain management is a plus and strong EMR skills are essential. The APP will assess patients, develop care plans, perform injections, and collaborate with physicians to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • APRN or PA-C with Indiana license to practice medicine (unrestricted).
  • Experience in pain management is a plus.
  • DEA registration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess patient health care needs and clinical issues.
  • Record findings and formulate plan and prognosis per doctor’s treatment plan.
  • Perform evaluations and re-evaluations of established patients; refer to physician when needed.
  • Discuss cases with physicians and other health professionals to craft a care plan.
  • Perform pain management injections per practice protocols; order diagnostics and medications.
  • Work independently and as part of a team; participate in performance improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Identify and assess patient’s clinical issues and health care needs

  • Record physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient’s condition and the doctor’s plan of treatment
  • Evaluations and Re-evaluations of established patients
  • Refers patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment when needed.
  • Discusses the case with Physician and other health professionals to prepare a comprehensive patient care plan
  • Performs pain management injections for specific diagnoses according to practice protocols
  • Prescribe/Order as medically indicated:- Diagnostics- Therapeutics- Medication- Pain Management Procedures- DME
  • Eagerness and ability to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
  • Supports the vision and culture of the organization. Demonstrates personal commitment through active involvement in the performance improvement process
  • All other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities:

  • Highly proficient with computers especially: EMR Software, Meaningful Use, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to manage high levels of stress and capable of making sound difficult decisions
  • Very structured, organized, consistent, pleasant, cheerful, yet professional personality, who will earn the respect of patients and co-workers immediately
  • Must be incredibly punctual. Great attendance, required

Qualifications, Education, and Experience (APRN):

  • DEA Registration, preferred

Qualifications, Education, and Experience (PA-C):

  • Must have a valid, unrestricted professional license in state of Indiana and be able to obtain clinical privileges to practice medicine

Our Physicians: All of our physicians are Board Certified and Fellowship Trained in Pain Medicine and Board Certified in Anesthesiology.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position will include sitting and standing with occasional light to medium lifting. Ability to help lift patients and transport in wheelchair from clinic to parking lot. An employee must meet these requirements to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. Reasonable accommodation will be made in accordance with ADA rules and regulations.
