Job summary

Montefiore Nyack Hospital is seeking a skilled NP or PA to provide medical care to patients undergoing non-invasive cardiac procedures. Under Cardiology Director supervision, you will perform histories, assess, and manage care in the Cardiac Cath Lab setting.

Requirements include MSN or MS, NYS licensure for NP or PA, and proficiency in EKG interpretation; CPR and ACLS readiness are essential. Day shift, 7:30 AM-4 PM, at Nyack, NY.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in Cardiology protocols.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting EKG.
• Licensed in New York State for NP or PA.
• ACLS and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive history and physicals for patients evaluated.
• Orders, screens and interprets labs and diagnostic tests.
• Provides patient care in Cardiology services: PET CT and Radiology.
• Assists physicians during hospital tests and procedures.
• Responds to emergencies with CPR and ACLS as needed.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Cardiology Director, provides medical care to patients undergoing Non-Invasive Cardiac procedures, and tests.

Essential Functions

• JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES: Advanced practice Provider will have the following job responsibilities:
• Performs complete medical history and physical on all patients evaluated.
• Formulates the differential diagnosis and plan of care.
• Monitors patients’ progress and writes daily notes in the medical record.
• Order, screen, and interpret all necessary lab and diagnostic tests.
• Writes appropriate hospital orders.
• Provides patient care in the following areas of the Cardiology service: PET CT, Radiology Department.
• Provides primary and secondary assistance to physicians during hospital tests and procedures.
• Intervenes in an appropriate manner in urgent an emergent situation by performing CPR and initiating ACLS protocols until physician arrives.
• Adheres to documentation standards, including departmental and hospital wide specific standards.
• Attends educational lectures, conferences, and in-services.
• Provides patient education regarding hospital tests, procedures, post-discharge care and follow-up.
• Performs other duties as required and/or requested based on the needs of the patient, department and organization.
• Adheres to departmental age-specific criteria as defined in departmental standard.

Performs other duties as assigned within classification. 4. Assists with the orientation process for new hires.

Qualifications

• MSN Required or
• MS Required or
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner or PA Required
• Must be fluent in Cardiology protocols. Proficiency in reading and interpreting EKG
• NP_NURSE PRACTITIONER - NEW YORK STATE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT Required or
• Physician Assistant - New York State Board of Medicine Required or
• BLS - American Heart Association Required
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Required
