Job summary

Greater Houston Digestive Disease Consultants is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our gastroenterology team in Shenandoah, TX. You will evaluate and manage patients with GI disorders, order tests, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.

The role requires NP or PA certification in Texas, and experience in GI or internal medicine is preferred. Strong clinical assessment, communication, and EMR skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Current certification as NP or PA in Texas.
• Experience in gastroenterology or internal medicine preferred.
• DEA license and prescriptive authority in Texas required or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with GI and digestive disorders.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including history and physical examinations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as labs, imaging, and endoscopic findings.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Manage chronic GI conditions including IBS, IBD, GERD, hepatitis, and colorectal disease.
• Provide patient education on diagnoses, medications, procedures, and lifestyle modifications.
• Document clinical encounters accurately and efficiently in the EMR system.

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including history and physical examinations

Requirements

• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Texas

• Ability to work collaboratively within a physician-led care team


• Excellent communication and patient-centered bedside manner


• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems


• DEA license and prescriptive authority in Texas required or ability to obtain
