Job summary

Missoula Bone & Joint Surgery Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide outpatient clinical care, including preadmission evaluation, assessment for planned procedures, and coordination with anesthesia and surgeons.

Responsibilities include patient evaluations, ordering tests, education on procedures and recovery, and responding to emergencies while maintaining confidentiality. Montana NP license and ANCC/AANP certification are required, with perioperative experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current Montana NP license or ability to obtain.
  • DEA registration and Controlled Substances Registration certificate required.
  • Certification through ANCC or AANP required.
  • At least 1 year, preferably 3, in internal medicine.
  • Preference for perioperative medicine/PAE/PAT/OR or orthopedics experience.
  • Strong communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform history, physical examination and chart review for planned outpatient procedures.
  • Coordinate care with anesthesia team and primary surgeon.
  • Order diagnostic tests according to Pre-Admission Evaluation guidelines.
  • Communicate medical assessment with attending surgeon and anesthesia provider.
  • Educate patients and families about the procedure and recovery.
