Job summary

Veterans Health Administration (VA) seeks a Certified Nurse Practitioner to practice in primary care with emphasis on quality, timeliness, and advancing VA's mission. The NP will provide a full range of primary care services, including health promotion, disease prevention, labs, diagnostics, and referrals to specialty services.

The selected candidate will be designated as a women's health provider and complete required VA training.

Qualifications

• Advanced Practice Nurse certification
• Eligible for VA nurse practitioner role
• Experience in primary care settings would be beneficial

Responsibilities

• Independently manages a panel of patients with acute and chronic conditions focusing on health promotion and disease prevention.
• Develops and implements individualized care plans to achieve optimal population health outcomes.
• Orders and interprets labs and diagnostic tests; prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
• Provides education to patients and families and coordinates referrals to specialty services.
