Job summary

Indian Health Service is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive care to American Indian and Alaska Native communities in Arizona. The NP will assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients, developing individualized care plans while adhering to professional guidelines and safety standards.

Position includes potential recruitment/relocation incentives and requires a U.S. NP license, citizenship, and successful completion of a federal background investigation.

Qualifications

• Graduate or higher-level degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Current, active NP license in the United States.
• U.S. citizenship is required and licensure to practice as an APN.
• Background investigation and security requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret patient histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
• Develop treatment plans based on guidelines and standards of care.
• Diagnose or treat acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, and injuries.
• Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, dosage and frequencies.
• Educate patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailored to individual circumstances.
