Job summary

Summit Medical Group, part of Summit Healthcare, seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a large Internal Medicine practice with 14 physicians. This is a full-time role with hours Mon-Fri 8 am–5 pm and one Saturday morning per month.

Responsibilities include managing patient care in collaboration with physicians, reviewing records, ordering labs, and developing treatment plans. Licensure in Tennessee as RN/APN or PA is required.

Qualifications

• Accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program completed.
• Three years of patient care experience in a clinic setting; APN or PA experience preferred.

• Maintains and reviews patient records and charts.
• Orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic procedures as appropriate.

About Our Career Opportunity

Internal Medicine Associates, a division of Summit Healthcare, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their large Internal Medicine practice with a team of 14 physicians.

This is a Full-time opportunity, with hours of Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm and one Saturday morning per month.

Responsibilities:

• Manages acute and long-term medical needs of patients in collaboration with physician.
• Maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information.
• Orders (and, as appropriate, performs) appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
• Determines preliminary diagnoses and therapeutic plans by obtaining, interpreting and integrating data.
• Posts tests and examination results as appropriate.
• Instructs patient/family regarding medications and treatments, educates patients/family regarding health and illness prevention, and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
• Assists physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
• Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
• Triages nursing and family telephone calls and provides consultation.

Education:

Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.

Experience:

Minimum of three years of previous patient care experience in a clinic setting, plus two years of APN or PA experience is preferred.

Certification / License:

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse in State of Tennessee, or current Physician Assistant licensed to practice in State of Tennessee.
