University Hospital in Newark, NJ seeks an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) focused on prenatal care. Working under a physician collaboration, you will be credentialed by the medical staff and provide comprehensive health assessments, diagnoses, and treatments to pregnant patients.
You will conduct rounds on OB/GYN units, educate patients and families, monitor medications, and coordinate care with Clinical Care Coordinators and navigators.
The advanced practice nurse (APN) is a skilled health provider who through a written collaborative practice agreement with a physician is credentialed through the medical staff office. As a member of the medical staff the APN demonstrates standards of professional practice that includes ethical decision making, job activities related to quality assessment/improvement, self- evaluation, leadership, and research. The APN is self-directed and purposeful in seeking necessary knowledge and skills to develop and maintain competency. In this role, with a specialized focus on prenatal patients, the APN will utilize critical judgment in the performance of comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis, and the prescribing of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in the direct management of patients diagnosed with a variety of medical/psychiatric conditions/diseases. The APN practice will promote maternal and fetal wellness through patient education, preventative care and participation in research initiatives. Functioning both autonomously and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the APN serves as a clinical resource and consultant, supporting coordinated care across the prenatal continuum.
In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is US/07S: $136,294 - $155,115.29 - $180,084.03. University Hospital considers multiple factors when determining compensation, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education and training, key skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational needs. The expected salary range for this position is in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
