Job summary

The Indian Health Service seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide compassionate primary care to American Indian and Alaska Native communities in the Zuni Pueblo region. You will assess patients, order tests, and collaborate with a care team to deliver culturally competent services.

This role emphasizes evidence-based practice, routine management of acute and chronic illnesses, and education for self-care. Licensure and federal background check are required; on-call and rotating shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate or higher-level degree in nursing or an advanced practice specialty from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
• Current, active, unrestricted RN license; advanced practice nursing positions require a specialty license appropriate to the clinical area.
• At least one (1) year of specialized nursing experience equivalent to the next lower federal grade level (e.g., GS‑10 for GS‑11). Experience may include private or public sector roles.
• Successful completion of a federal background investigation.
• U.S. citizenship, Selective Service registration (for applicable candidates), and federal E‑Verify eligibility.
