Englewood Health is seeking a Hematology/Breast Oncology Advanced Practice Nurse for a temporary per diem role in Bergen County, NJ, just minutes from New York City. The APN will support high‑risk assessment, diagnostic workups, treatment, survivorship and long‑term follow‑up across three oncology floors.

The ideal candidate has NJ NP licensure with board certification, BLS/ACLS, and Chemo/Bio certification within 3 months of hire, with preference for oncology experience and leadership

Qualifications

  • Must hold an RN license in NJ and NP certification.
  • Chemo/Bio certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Experience in hematology/oncology preferred; leadership/teaching experience is a plus.
  • DEA and NJ CDS registration required.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Determines and prioritizes patient care needs.
  • Performs or implements interventions and treatments with a scientific basis.
  • Orders, performs and interprets laboratory tests as needed per NCCN guidelines.
  • Prescribes drugs in accordance with state and federal law.
  • Provides preventive care and manages episodic and chronic hematologic/oncologic conditions.
  • Educates patients and families and collaborates with the care team.
  • Completes patient care milestones and education like Chemo talks and Survivorship.

Advanced Practice Nurse HOPE Temporary Per Diem
Per Diem | Bergen County, NJ | 10 minutes from NYC

We are seeking a Hematology/Breast Oncology APN to join our multidisciplinary Hematology Oncology Physicians of Englewood (HOPE) in New Jersey. This role supports comprehensive care across the continuum—from high‑risk assessment and diagnostic workup to treatment, survivorship, and long‑term follow‑up. The ideal candidate brings clinical expertise, patient‑centered communication, and a commitment to evidence‑based oncology practice.

About the Opportunity
  • The team includes 8 providers, 8 APNs, and 52 ancillary staff.
  • You will provide dedicated support across 3 oncology floors within the hospital.
  • Flexible hours - 1-2 days a week. 3/6/8 hours in a day.
What your day will look like
  • Determines and prioritizes patient care needs. Diagnoses are determined and prioritized from the assessment data using appropriate complex clinical reasoning.
  • Performs or implements interventions and treatments with knowledge of health care research findings and reflecting a scientific basis and theory.
  • Order, perform and interpret laboratory tests. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will order and interpret any tests necessary to the medical evaluation. Examples include CBC, serum chemistry, tumor markers, chest x-ray, cat scans, nuclear scans, MRI, venous Doppler studies, EKG and Echo at appropriate oncology disease specific treatment interval as defined by NCCN guidelines.
  • Select and performs tests and therapeutic procedures for the patient as necessary, adhering to scope of practice guidelines and program area's curriculum.
  • Prescribe Drugs: The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will prescribe drugs as necessary as appropriate for the Hematology/Oncology office in accordance with state and federal law.
  • Provide preventive care and diagnosis and treatment of episodic, short-term and stable chronic hematologic/oncologic problems.
  • Identifies educational needs of patients and families and collaborates with other members of the multidisciplinary patient care team to develop programs and materials for team members, patient/family and the community.
  • Complete patient care milestones and education such as Chemo talks, Survivorship and Geriatric Assessment as defined by disease specific NCCN guidelines.
Qualifications
Advanced Practice Nurse
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing required
  • Master’s or Doctorage degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Current New Jersey Professional Nurse License
  • Current Nurse Practitioner License - Board Certification required
  • ONS Chemo/Bio Certification within 3 months of hire required
  • 1-2 year’s recent clinical experience in area of expertise preferred;could be 1-2 years in women’s health or familiar with breast oncology patients
  • Previous leadership/teaching experience preferred
  • DEA and NJ CDS registration
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification

The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The rate shown reflects the flat hourly rate for this position; this position is not benefit eligible.
