Job summary

Planned Parenthood California Central Coast is seeking a non-physician advanced practice clinician to collaborate with the health care team in delivering routine reproductive health services in line with PPCCC standards. Responsibilities include abortion, contraception, and preventive care, with emphasis on compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• RN license valid in California (Physician Assistant exempt).
• Nurse Practitioner or Clinician training and subsequent experience in reproductive health care.
• Completion of approved Family Planning Nurse Practitioner, Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult Care Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwifery or Physician Assistant program.
• Current California license as Advanced Nurse Practitioner; Nurse Midwife or Physician Assistant.
• Certification for advanced practice through a nationally recognized organization.
• Current CPR (BLS) licensure.
• Current California Furnishing Number, DEA number optional.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the “SOAP” format for completing medical examination forms, including all appropriate medical findings and recommendations.
• Demonstrate competency in, but not limited to, the following; peer review, quality assurance audits, and laboratory proficiency testing.
• Participate in required staff meetings, conference calls, and mandatory all staff trainings.
• Accurately perform and document comprehensive and focused review of medical history, review of systems, physical exams, ordering/performing/interpreting of appropriate laboratory tests.
• Maintain a comprehensive knowledge about all medications listed on the PPCCC formulary that are dispensed in house or prescribed for all PPCCC medical services.
• Refer patients with abnormal conditions appropriately per PPCCC protocols.
• Adherence to abnormal clinical finding protocols listed in PPCCC’s Medical Standards and Guidelines as they relate to timing and types of notifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Center Director and/or Senior Director of Medical Services or designee.
