Job summary

PPGNY is seeking an Advanced Practice Clinician to provide comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care, including HIV testing, contraception, abortion services, and gender-affirming care, within a fast-paced clinical setting in New York. You will work with physicians and the health team to plan and deliver patient-focused care, with opportunities to support mobile clinics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 1 year of clinical experience minimum.
  • State license and national credentialing body certification.
  • Experience with LGBTQ+ populations and HIV care.
  • Clinical training in sexual and reproductive health.

  • Assist in training and orientation for newly hired staff.
  • Support the mobile health unit and travel to other work locations as required.

Job description

When you join PPGNY as an Advanced Practice Clinician you will provide medical examinations for the purpose of providing sexual and reproductive health care, including assessing general health, diagnosing medical conditions, and providing therapeutic assistance for a range of infections and disorders such as HIV.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan and administer individualized health care in accordance with PPGNY policies and protocols in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Provide full‑spectrum sexual and reproductive health care and education, including contraception, abortion, well‑person examinations, testing and treatment of STIs including HIV, and gender‑affirming health care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other health‑care team members and make referrals to medical and community resources as indicated.
  • Assist in training and orientation for newly hired staff.
  • Support the mobile health unit and travel to other work locations as required.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from a formal and accredited Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, or Nurse Midwife program.
  • Bachelor’s degree (required).
  • State license as a Physician Assistant, Nurse Midwife, or Nurse Practitioner and certification by a national credentialing body.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Proficiency and comfort with an EMR system.
  • Compassionate, non‑judgmental, culturally responsive care across a wide range of identities and a deep sense of accountability to patient experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience.
  • Experience with EPIC.
  • Master’s degree in a related health field.
  • Experience working with LGBTQ+ populations.
  • Experience with people newly diagnosed or living with HIV.
