Qualifications

• Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing required.
• Current RN license in state of practice (compact or temporary licenses acceptable).
• BLS and ACLS required.
• PALS certification within 90 days if PEDS ASC services are assigned.
• Minimum 1 year licensed RN experience in PreOp/PACU for Core roles; other pathways exist.
• Newly licensed RNs or those enrolled in Perianesthesia Academy may qualify with completion timelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs across physical, psychological, social, and educational domains.
• Formulate and adjust a plan of care, including discharge planning, with the care team.
• Implement care per physician orders and nursing plan, ensuring policy compliance.
• Evaluate patient progress and teaching effectiveness; revise plans as needed.
• Document care clearly in the patient record with timely updates.
• Participate in education and mentoring to promote facility improvement.
