HCA Florida West Hospital in Pensacola, FL is seeking an Advanced Patient Care Technician (ER) to support RN-led care in a fast-paced emergency department. You will observe patients, document changes, assist with ADLs, and help deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, IV line/catheter removal, wound care, and collecting lab samples, while also handling clerical tasks to keep the ER running smoothly.

• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date

Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will be an important part of delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. Under the guidance of a registered nurse, you will perform advanced clinical tasks and help create a safe, welcoming environment where patients and families feel valued and respected.

• Observe patients, document changes, and communicate them with the nursing team
• Help patients with daily needs (ADLs) such as eating, drinking, bathing, and moving safely
• Provide advanced care, including phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, removing IV lines and catheters, and care for wounds
• Assist with supporting tasks like collecting lab samples and assisting with clerical duties to keep care running smoothly
• Look ahead to what patients might need, respond quickly, and help ensure every experience feels seamless and compassionate

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
