Job summary

Vitruvian Health, a leading healthcare provider in northwest Georgia and southeast Tennessee, seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) to join Hamilton Physician Group. You will take medical histories, examine and treat patients, order tests, interpret results, and manage medications within a collaborative team.

You will educate patients, assist in surgery, and participate in rounds and on-call duties, with on-site responsibilities in Georgia.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Registered PA or APRN license, or eligible for license, in state of Georgia.
  • Basic life support (BLS/CPR) required from AHA or ARC.

Responsibilities

  • Take medical histories, examine and treat patients.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and other diagnoses (x-rays, CT, MRI).
  • Prescribe medications and ancillary services.
  • Educate and counsel patients in pre- and post-operative settings.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures and act as First Assist during surgery.
  • Assist physicians with on-call duties and provide emergency care when necessary.
  • Refer patients to appropriate physician or agency; participate in hospital rounds.
  • Write orders and progress notes; manage new admissions and consults.
  • Handle patient discharge and care in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Every time.JOB SUMMARYThe advanced medical practitioner provider working in Hamilton Physician Group will be responsible for taking medical histories, examine, and treat patients, order and interpret laboratory tests and other diagnoses (i.e. x-rays, CT scans, MRI) and make diagnoses. The medical advanced practice provider will prescribe medications and other ancillary services as indicated (i.e. educating and counseling patients in pre-and post-operative settings, performing minor surgical procedures, acting as First Assist during surgery, assisting physicians with on-call duties, providing emergency care when necessary, referring patients to the appropriate physician or agency, prescribing medications, participating in hospital rounds, writing orders and progress notes, conducting new admissions and consults, handling patient discharge, and participating in the care of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.). The medical advanced practice provider will provide patient education as indicated. The above duties and other duties as assigned will be performed in collaboration with a supervising physician and the physician assistant or nurse practitioner.JOB QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program or Nurse Practitioner program.Licensure: Registered PA or APRN license, or eligible for license, in state of Georgia. BLS/CPR required from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.Experience: Demonstration of clinical competency in the Advanced Practice Provider role. Two years’ experience preferred.Skills: Demonstration of clinical competency in the Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner role. Demonstration of qualities of leadership and sound clinical judgment. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, fellow co-workers and other members of the health care team. Ability to effectively interpret, implement and support hospital policies, regulations, philosophy and objectives.PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORT AND WORKING CONDITIONSWorks in a physician office setting with adolescent, adult and geriatric patients who may experience a wide range of medical problems. Required to work flexible schedule. Ability to work with patients and significant others in possible stressful and emotional situations. Requires full range of body motion including possible lifting and handling patients. Possible exposure to communicable diseases, chemicals or body fluids.
