Job summary

Central Texas College in Killeen, TX, is seeking an administrative tutor for the Mathematics Department. The role provides administrative support and tutors students in the Advanced Mathematics Laboratory, and proctors math assessments to uphold academic integrity.

Responsibilities include assisting walk-in tutoring, monitoring math software and lab equipment, tutoring individuals and small groups, and running the Advanced Math Lab when the Math Resources Coordinator is unavailable.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 credits towards a Bachelor degree required in mathematics or related field.
• Completion of Calculus II AND Differential Equations or Calculus III preferred.
• 2 years customer service wage earning experience required.
• Experience using Microsoft applications including online learning management systems and experience using graphic calculator required.
• Must have ability to work cooperatively with people at all levels.
• Must be computer literate.
• Demonstrate a high level of verbal and writing skills as well as computational skills.
• Assisting student requesting walk-in tutoring.
• Proctor math assessments to uphold academic integrity.
• Monitoring student use of math software, computers, and printer to include corrective action.
• Monitor and assist student use of personal and lab calculators.
• Tutors individuals and small groups as assigned by the Math Resources Coordinator.
• Run the Advanced Math Lab when the Math Resources Coordinator is not available or his/her schedule work time has concluded (per schedule).
• Perform other required tasks as assigned by the supervisor and departmental chair.

Responsibilities

• Monitor student use of math software and lab equipment.
• Tutor individuals and small groups as assigned by the coordinator.
• Run the Advanced Math Lab when the coordinator is unavailable.
• Collaborate with department staff and chair on lab operations.
