Job summary

Serco is seeking an Advanced Marine Welder to support U.S. Navy ships and C5ISR system installations in Virginia. You will fabricate, assemble electromechanical components, and read blueprints to ensure precision welds in challenging shipboard environments.

The role requires at least 5 years of shipboard welding, DoD Secret clearance eligibility, respirator qualification, and the ability to travel up to 10%. Work is onsite in Chesapeake, VA with strict safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years shipboard welding experience.
• Must be able to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assemble metal components or repair damage using heavy welding equipment.
• Review blueprints and cut metal to shape.
• Smooth metal surfaces and prepare for installation.
• Climb shipyard stairs and lift up to 50 pounds; travel up to 10%.
• May train personnel on machinery tools and test equipment.
