Blood Hound is hiring an Advanced Locate Technician in Des Moines, IA. You will locate and mark utilities across diverse sites, using observational and deductive skills to ensure precise mapping.

A strong attention to detail and a professional attitude are essential as you support engineering and construction projects. Role expectations include 1+ year private locating (or 2 years public locating), CAD/GIS/MicroStation familiarity, and willingness to travel overnight.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of private locating experience or 2 years of public locating experience with exposure to multiple utility types.
• Ability to read CAD, GIS, and MicroStation files is a plus.
• Comfortable with after-hours work and some overnight travel.

Successful candidates will possess troubleshooting skills and be willing and able to learn new procedures and technologies. Private utility locating involves marking ALL facilities regardless of ownership or type, including sewer, electric, abandoned facilities, chemical transport, and other exotic utilities. Candidates should be detail oriented and are expected to maintain a professional and positive attitude.**The pay for this position is $24-$26/hour, plus commission. The selected candidate may reside anywhere within the Des Moines, IA area.
