Job summary

Broad Reach Partners seeks a Senior Java/Angular Development Lead to architect and drive a full-stack Java/Angular application. The role focuses on building a new UI for a Java backend, with emphasis on modern Angular capabilities and robust backend services.

Hybrid role, requires current residence in the Atlanta area; occasional in-office collaboration in Alpharetta, Roswell, or nearby areas is expected to support a distributed team. Expect ongoing enhancements ahead of 2027 go-live.

Job description

Are you an Advanced Java Software Engineer with Lead and Architect level skills and experience and currently live in the Atlanta area? Do you consider yourself a strong full stack Java Developer with not only good Java development skills and experience but also very good with Angular as well? We are looking for a Senior Java/Angular Development Lead that has used the latest versions of Angular and has a very solid Java development background. This opportunity is a full-time position leading the development of a new application for a client with a go live in 2027 and will be the code base for other client implemenations as well.

We are looking for someone that has strong UI architecture and development skills with Angular. (as well as Java). Our business application layer is being developed in Java so experience building an application with an Angular UI for a Java application would be ideal. Experience building NEW UI applications and products would also be good experience for this role as well. This project involves the development of an embedded terminal application that is driven by a Java/Jetty application. While we definitely want a strong Angular resource, you will need to be pretty strong in Java too. The terminal is very dynamic in its shaping through layering, plugins, configuration and host messaging.

The main skills and experience required for this role include:

• Extensive Java development background with Angular/UI design and development experience
• Must have excellent communication skills - both verbal as well as written skills.
• This is primarily a software development position and current experience with Java and Angular (latest versions) is required.
• Experience with protobuf techniques and other serialization mechanisms is a plus.
• You will be part of a distributed team and so must be comfortable working with others on a development team.
• You must have experience with design patterns.
• Experience with Jakarta EE(CDI/Weld), asynchronouse programmering (CompletableFuture in Java and Observable in TypeScript).
• Experience with POS applications would be a plus.

This is a hybrid role and so MUST CURRENTLY LIVE IN ATLANTA and ideally in the Roswell / Alpharetta / Cumming / Johns Creek areas and is willing to come to our offices in Alpharetta a couple of days each week.
