Job summary

A leading healthcare organization in Houston seeks a Histotechnologist to handle specimen processing and validation, ensuring high quality analysis and compliance with protocols. The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree in Histology and relevant certifications, along with experience in histology lab procedures, including embedding and staining techniques. This role involves direct involvement with samples, emphasizing accuracy and quality control in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3 years' experience in a Histology Laboratory preferred.
• Experience in processing, embedding, and sectioning paraffin blocks and frozen tissue preferred.
• Experience in performing Special Stains with automated stainer and by hand preferred.

Responsibilities

• Validate specimen identification and prioritize workload according to protocols.
• Embed tissues and section at least 30 blocks/hour on the microtome.
• Assist with liver biopsies and fresh specimens retrieval.
