Alma Tire Service Inc. in Saginaw, MI seeks an Advanced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty diesel equipment. You will support shop workflow, document repairs, and collaborate with experienced professionals to deliver high-quality service.

The ideal candidate has strong diagnostics, driveline, and diesel engine experience, plus a focus on safety, organization, and teamwork. CDL preferred and built-in growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic or similar role.
• Strong experience with driveline systems, trailers, brakes, clutches, and diesel engine repair.
• Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools, software, and repair equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair procedures.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage workflow and maintain accurate documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and efficiently; Valid driver's license required; CDL and/or industry certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and performance-related issues in heavy-duty diesel equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance services and complete thorough inspections.
• Troubleshoot and repair fuel systems, hydraulic systems, transmissions, driveline components, brakes, clutches, and trailers.
• Utilize diagnostic software, technical manuals, and schematics to accurately identify and resolve issues.
• Maintain detailed, organized repair documentation.
• Support shop workflow by communicating repair status and prioritizing tasks.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including tools and bays.
• Collaborate with team members to promote quality workmanship and consistent repair standards.
• Serve as a positive, reliable presence with professionalism and integrity.
• Assist less experienced technicians as needed and contribute to a team environment.

We are seeking an Advanced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic for our Saginaw, MI location. The ideal candidate will have strong experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty diesel equipment and will take pride in producing organized, efficient, and high-quality work. This individual should be comfortable handling complex diagnostics, supporting overall shop workflow, and serving as a dependable technical resource within the team.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and performance-related issues in heavy-duty diesel equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance services and complete thorough inspections

• Serve as a positive and reliable presence within the shop by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, integrity, and a strong work ethic
• Assist less experienced technicians when needed and contribute to a team-oriented environment
