Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System in Braselton, GA is seeking an Allied Health Technician to assist in the ED, providing direct patient care and supporting clinical teams. The role includes performing Point of Care Testing, phlebotomy, and venipuncture within the EMT Intermediate/Advanced scope.

The ideal candidate holds an EMT Intermediate/Advanced license in Georgia, a high school diploma or GED, and has experience delivering patient care in pre-hospital, ED, or clinic settings.

Qualifications

• Current EMT Intermediate or EMT Advanced license in the State of Georgia.
• High School Diploma or GED; Certificate or Diploma from Accredited Learning Institute in Emergency Medical Technology (must have to meet requirements for POC testing).
• EMT with at least one (1) year of direct patient care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of dysrhythmias and conduction abnormalities; ability to interpret EKGs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care assistance in the ED for adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Perform Point of Care Testing and phlebotomy with IV access.
• Document vital signs and patient updates to licensed staff.
• Support ED clinicians and participate in codes and emergency drills as needed.
• Maintain patient safety, clean environment, and accurate sample handling.
