Job summary

MUSC Lancaster Medical Center in Lancaster, SC seeks an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician to support the Emergency Department. The role follows ED Technician duties and requires EKG, Phlebotomy, and cardiac monitoring skills under RN supervision.

Required: High School/GED, SC EMT license, BLS; AEMT preferred; ACLS/PALS/NIHSS if unit required; rotating shifts, 12 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Experience with EKG, Phlebotomy and cardiac monitoring preferred.
• South Carolina EMT license is required; AEMT preferred.
• BLS certification from AHA required; ACLS, PALS with AHA if unit required, NIHSS if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs ED Technician duties and routine tasks within training and certification limits under RN supervision.
• Cares for Emergency Department patients; additional responsibilities may be required.
• Works in a fast-paced ER environment with energetic team.

Job Description

The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician performs duties of the Emergency Department Technician and other routine duties within the limit of their training and certification in caring for the Emergency Department patients. The care is rendered under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Additional responsibilities may be required.

Experience : Previous experience with EKG, Phlebotomy, and Cardiac Monitoring preferred.

Education : High School Degree or GED required

License/Certification : South Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) required. Advance Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) required. Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) with American Heart Association (AHA), and NIHSS stroke scale with American Heart Association (AHA) if unit required
