Job summary

Cirrus Aircraft is seeking an Advanced Software Engineer to lead development of software for next-generation aircraft systems, including flight deck UIs, autonomous controls, and AI/ML-driven applications.

You will architect scalable backends, write production-grade code, and contribute to CI/CD and ML model training efforts. Preference for candidates with aviation-certified software or robotics background and strong C++/Python skills.

Qualifications

4-7 years of industry experience in software development for complex systems.

Overview

The AD&D Advanced Software Engineer will lead the development of advanced software capabilities for next-generation aircraft systems. This role focuses on designing and implementing software features for user interfaces, automated and autonomous controls, and AI/ML-driven applications. The engineer will architect scalable solutions, write production-quality code, and build backend systems to support continuous integration, continuous development, and machine learning model training. Experience in aviation-certified software is a plus, but candidates from robotics, automotive, or industrial automation backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Experience with computer vision libraries (OpenCV, CUDA) and GPU optimization.
Familiarity with cloud-based ML workflows and data pipeline architectures.
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of state machines, behavior trees, and task planning algorithms.
Experience with multi-agent collaboration and human-machine interfaces.
Startup or rapid development program experience.
Pilot's license or aviation experience is a plus.
